MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK RUSSIA: new season, new designers, new ideas

From March 29 to April 2 Moscow will host the 26th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. More than 70 designers from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, the Great Britain and Spain will present their collections at the new main venue of the Fashion Week – the Central Exhibition Hall (CEH) «Manege» (Manezh Suare, 1). The participants will present Autumn-Fall 2013/2014 collections.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia brings together Top Russian fashion designers: SLAVA ZAITSEV, Tatiana Parfionova, Alena Akhmadullina, BEssARION, Dasha Gauser, Julia Nikolaeva, HakaMa, TEGIN, BORODULIN'S, Julia Dalakian, LEONID ALEXEEV, MASHA KRAVTSOVA, POUSTOVIT, Lena Tsokalenko, PIROSMANI BY JENYA MAL YGINA, Olga Brovkina, RUBAN and other leading designers. Traditionally, the main heroes of Fashion Week will be not only recognized leaders of Russian fashion-space, but also young newcomers: Maria Golubeva, RIA KEBURIA, Maroussia Zaitseva, GOGA NIKABADZE, Yanina Vekhteva, Natali Leskova as well as brands specializing in creating accessoire and jewellery lines – Rainbow Seekers, Olya Shikhova, MASTERPEACE by Evgenia Linovich, Volha, RJ BIJOUX, Nastia Olgan and others. For the first time catwalk of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia in CEH “Manege” will see the shows of stars from the British fashion scene – designers of Russian descent - FYODOR GOLAN, Timur Kim, Vilshenko, NATASHA ZINKO.

- The aim of Fashion Week – to support and promote Russian designers – has evolved in the past years, - says general director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Alexander Shumsky. – Today Fashion Week in Moscow is the main venue for designers with Russian background. Among the graduates from fashion institutes in the West there are quite a lot of those who speak Russian but run their business in London, New York or Paris. Some of them have already presented their collections on the catwalks of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia – Von Vonni, BASHARATYAN V and others. This year Fashion Week will increase its support: we want the best Russian speaking designers to present their collections in Moscow.

During the breaks between the shows visitors will be entertained by a program of fashion-movies prepared together with NYFFF (New York Fashion Film Festival): guests of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will be able to watch fashion-inspired works of Roman Polanski, Ryan McGinley, Stephen Meisel. The business-program of Fashion Weel will host a conference for Digital, Luxury and Fashion experts HUBFORUM 2013 - “Strategy for promoting luxury brands via Internet”.

Beautiful Italy

The whole my life I have been dreaming to visit New York, Paris, Milan but never Rome...Now I can definitely say that I was mistaken. I couldn't even imagine how nice is this city. It is not just a beautiful city with sunny weather but it is a huge historical monument where you can find prooves to it on every your step. Enormous quantity of churches, museums and historical places which cant be all see during one week, I think you need a month at least but it won't be enough anyway to fully enjoy and experience this city.

During my trip I visited Rome, Milan and small Bologna with it's famous university.

In Rome we tried to see as much as we could, during the week we got acquianted with its culture and  the majority of sights. From all the places I can distinguish such as well-known Coliseum,  huge St. Peter's Basilica and it's square, Church of Saint Ignatius, Trevi fontain, Popolo and Navona squares and  etc. Also I want to mention the market on the Fiori square where you can buy all the variety of pasta, oil, cheese, fruits, flowers and some other weird stuff.

Also want to say a few words about Milan. It is a city which I have been dreaming to visit for a long time. Mostly because of it's enormously beautiful gothic cathedral, Duomo. It was majestic and gorgeous as I expected. Wish we could stay there longer as I am sure that one day is not enough for this city)

Pal Zileri (Italy) so beloved by Russian public, Ozwald Boateng (Great Britain) known all over the world for his collections of mens’ clothes, Giles Deacon (Great Britain) titled by GQ magazine the Designer of the year and KAI who designs clothes for Thailand royal family. During the whole history of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia (previously Russian Fashion Week) its catwalk was illuminated by fashion shows of more than 80 international designers including Vivienne Westwood (Great Britain), Catherine Malandrino (USA), Costume National (Italy) and JC de Castelbajac (France).

Halloween

This Friday my friends and I went to the Halloween party wich was held in the design-zavod Flacon. Of corse the costume wasn't necessary but as it is Halloween I was trying to find something the last day before the party) I already have a t-shirt of a slutty girl but I was wearing it last year and the year before it) So I took some details from my waitress uniform and bought banal rabbit ears and this way i was wearing a costume of rabbit-waitress)) But it wasn't really matter) The night was fun. The first part we spent in the Flacon, dancing, drinking and talking to different people) and the second part me and some of my survived friends went to the bar where we spent the rest of the night) It was really awesome) Hope you all also had a great Halloween!))

getting colder

If at school teachers told you that winter lasted for 3 month then it is definitely not about winter in Russia. Here it starts in October and lasts for 6-7 months till April. This fact always upsets me. Now I am already wearing tonnes of clothes and winter coats)
